The Killing Zone: A team from Britain's Channel 4 documents life in Rafah, filming realities rarely seen in the United States. Within hours of arriving on March 18, 2003 the team is shot at by Israeli troops breaking up a memorial service for ISM's Rachel Corrie, who was crushed to death by an Israeli Army bulldozer on March 16. They document the shooting by Israeli troops of the British ISM volunteer Tom Hurndall, and the shooting of James Miller, the award-winning British cameraman, killed as he filmed Israeli troops bulldozing Palestinian homes. They document an Israeli missile attack that assassinates a Hamas leader and maims children playing in the street nearby.
Two speakers from Direct Action Palestine and the International Solidarity Movement who recently volunteered in the West Bank will comment on the realities depicted in the film - daily life in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and the dangers of non-violent human rights activism in Israel/Palestine.
