Vigil to Honor and Remember Rachel Corrie
Tuesday, March 16th 2004  4 - 6 PM
San Francisco, CA

A vigil to honor and remember Rachel Corrie and to protest her murder at the age of 23 by Israeli soldiers with a 60-ton American made Caterpillar bulldozer on March 16, 2003. After one year this crime remains unreported, un-condemned, un-investigated and unpunished.

Rachel, a volunteer with the International Solidarity Movement, died trying to make life safer for both Palestinians and Israelis by working with the Palestinian-led nonviolent resistance movement as human shield and human rights observer bearing witness to the world that Palestinian resistance was peaceful. She was also making the world safer for Americans by demonstrating that there are U.S. citizens who care about and are working for peace and justice. Rachel was also an eloquent spokesperson for and tireless activist on a whole gamut of progressive causes on the local/domestic level including labor, the environment, women's rights and the list is endless. Her death is an inestimable loss to our struggle for peace, justice, freedom and human dignity.

Please show up in large numbers and urge members of other groups to do the same. Also, please contact the media and tell them to cover this event.
